Nick Clegg’s latest letter to supporters wishes us all the very best for a relaxing Easter holiday. He’s off on a family break visiting his parents — or “holidaying at a millionaires’ playground” if you prefer the Mirror‘s styling. My Co-Editor Caron Lindsay has written a reply highlighting the many and various ways Lib Dem members will be spending the break: campaigning. However you spend it — we at LibDemVoice wish you all the best.
Just a quick note this week to wish you a happy Easter weekend.
It’s been a hectic year so far: Leveson; the budget (£10K tax free for all!); new childcare funding; the Dilnot report; a new fair, flat-rate pension; and a spectacular triumph in Eastleigh.
Any fears the Lib Dems might run out of steam in Government or on the campaign trail are being utterly confounded!
So this spring break is coming at just the right time for us all to recharge our batteries – before we all go out to campaign hard for the May County Council elections.
My Easter will be spent just with the family: for some reason, our tradition has always been to paint eggs (hardboiled first!) and hide them for our three boys to find. I recommend it if you’ve got children, they love it.
Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend – spring cleaning or DIY, indulging in a bit too much chocolate, or simply enjoying the time off – I hope you have a wonderful few days.
