Chris Bowers to write Nick Clegg’s biography

Well, now he knows he’s really arrived… the Lib Dem leader and Deputy Prime Minister is to be the subject of a biography published by Biteback next summer, 2011:

The book, which so far has only a working title ‘Nick Clegg: The Biography’, is being written by the writer and broadcaster Chris Bowers, and will be published by Biteback in time for next year’s party conference season.

“We’ve been looking to appoint a biographer of this year’s breakthrough figure in British politics,” says Biteback’s managing director Iain Dale, “and in Chris Bowers we believe we’ve found an experienced biography writer in the perfect position to give the background on who Nick Clegg is and what drives him.”

If the name Chris Bowers sounds familiar to Voice readers, it may be because he’s both a Lib Dem blogger and was the party’s candidate for Wealden at the last general election, polling almost 14,000 votes.

He’s well-qualified for the task of profiling Nick. Not only does he speak three foreign languages, but he’s no stranger to writing about winners, having written a number of books following Roger Federer’s career, including Fabulous Federer.
