Total Politics Top 75 Lib Dem blogs list published

by Stephen Tall on September 6, 2010

It’s two months since Total Politics asked blog-readers to vote for their Top 10 favourite blogs in their annual survey promoted here on LDV, as well as at LabourList and Iain Dale’s Diary. More than 2,200 people voted, and here is the full list of the Top 75 Lib Dem blogs according to the voters of Total Politics:

Many congratulations to all bloggers, no matter where they were placed. In particular, it’s interesting to note the diversity in the top 10: two group blogs (Lib Dem Voice and Liberal Vision), three female bloggers (Caron Lindsay, Sara Bedford, Jennie Rigg), and five male bloggers (Mark Thompson, Mark Pack, Jonathan Calder, Stephen Glenn and Andrew Reeves). Congratulations, too, to the Scottish blogging contingent — Caron, Stephen and Andrew — who represent three of the top 10.

Last year, four of the top 10 blogs were new entries: this year, none were. It will be interesting to see if any bloggers just starting out can break into the ‘top rank’ in 2011. As I commented in 2009:

Overall, though I’m sure all of us would quibble with individual placings, what it does demonstrate is the strength in depth of the Lib Dem blogosphere. And remember: it’s just a list.
