I was interviewed for the BBC Radio 4 Sunday night show The Westminster Hour yesterday – here’s their spiel:
Lib Dem angst
The first big electoral verdict on this latest batch of spending cuts will come next year when voters go to the polls to elect a new parliament in Scotland and a new Assembly in Wales. In England there’ll be local council elections.
Now the one thing you can be fairly certain of is that Labour activists will be attacking Liberal Democrats for cutting public services. After all, the Lib Dems are now in government – and at the Treasury the man wielding the axe will be Lib Dem Chief Secretary, Danny Alexander. It’s bound to make many Lib Dem activists feel uncomfortable. We’ve been talking to a leading Lib Dem activist, Stephen Tall, who runs the website, Lib Dem Voice.
