Ros Scott, the Lib Dem party president, has just issued the following announcement that Chris Fox will take over as interim chief executive of the party during July:
Following this month’s announcement that we will be appointing an Interim Chief Executive I am pleased to say that following a selection process Chris Fox has been appointed to this important role.
Chris Fox joined us as Director of Policy and Communications earlier this year and he will continue to fulfil the tasks associated with this job . This is possible thanks to the strength of the individuals and teams working in Cowley Street. It has been underlined to me many times during the recruitment process that the Party has a fantastic Senior Management Team and I know that along with Chris, Ben Stoneham , Hilary Stephenson, David Loxton and Nigel Bliss will be instrumental in ensuring we have an effective Party organisation and a dynamic general election campaign, whenever Gordon Brown decides to call it.
This change will take effect during July and will remain in effect up to the General Election. Chris Rennard will work with Chris Fox and the Senior Team to facilitate a full handover. I know that we all owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Chris Rennard for his support, friendship and perhaps most of all for his unfailing dedication to our Party over his many years of service.
Chris Fox has been a member of the party for over three decades and has fulfilled a variety of roles for the us. He brings a range of expertise and energy that is already benefiting the party and I know he has plenty more to offer us during this important period. Chris , Ben, Hilary, David and Nigel are a formidable team who will focus on preparing the Party for the election. I know that you will give them your full support.
Lib Dem Voice profiled Chris when he was appointed to his current post just six months ago – you can read it HERE. All the very best from LDV for your new job, Chris!
