Huhne launches his ‘Liberal Revolution’ manifesto

by Stephen Tall on October 31, 2007

Lib Dem leadership contender Chris Huhne today launched his manifesto under the heading ‘The Liberal Revolution’.

You can read more on Chris’s website here. Here’s an extract from his foreword:

Britain needs a radical party to change our society, not just run it. We need a party that will breathe trust and faith back into the political process by speaking honestly about the challenges we face, and the disillusion that so many of us feel. The task for Liberal Democrats is to revive our antiestablishment edge, and remember that we are the party that wants to change the system, not just change the people on the back seat of the ministerial limousine. … As Liberal Democrats, the stakes have never been higher. It is time to set out on a crusade for Liberal values, and to become an unstoppable movement of conscience and reform.

Interesting to note that Chris’ “scrap Trident” has now become “Replace Trident after 2010 if noting changes” policy, or is that “don’t renew after 2010 if something does change but I don’t know what” policy – or is it really the “ok I was trying to spin it so I got all the votes of those who want to give up nukes” policy or is it the “oops Lib Dems are much harder to spin than the Guardian” policy

go figure
