by Stephen Tall on August 24, 2006

Right, it’s uploaded and live, over at www.stephentall.org.uk. Simple question:

Simon Hughes has served one full term as Lib Dem Party President. Would you like to see him re-elected, or would you support one of the other possible candidates listed below?

  • Paddy Ashdown
  • Lynne Featherstone
  • Simon Hughes
  • Susan Kramer
  • Lembit Opik
  • Jo Swinson
  • Matthew Taylor
  • Shirley Williams
  • Jenny Willott

The choice is yours…

Thanks, Toby – I’ve posted a response over at your blog.

I don’t disagree with you: I think it could be great to have a non-Parliamentarian.

But they would need to surmount two obstacles: 1) having enough of a profile to win, and 2) having the time to do it, unless they’re already pretty much full-time as (say) a councillor.

If they can climb those, they may well be the ideal choice!

Should be Jenny Willott. In this age of image (which none of us can get away from, I’m afraid) someone eloquent and good-looking like Jenny Willott in a prominent position would do the party a world of good…
